Dear K&B, 

Today, on International Women’s Day, I’m proud to stand in a profession that is built on service, courage, and community.

Policing has changed a lot over the years, and so has the role of women within it. Every day I have the privilege of working alongside strong, dedicated women who protect, support, and lead in our communities. From frontline response to investigation, leadership, and safeguarding — women continue to shape policing for the better.

But today is also about recognising the women in our communities: the mothers, daughters, sisters, colleagues, and friends who inspire resilience, kindness, and strength every single day.

To the women who serve, the women who support us, and the women we protect — thank you. Your courage and impact do not go unnoticed.
